Reflection A: Design as a Socio-Cultural Phenomenon

Indeed, the design is definitely a socio-cultural phenomenon. Each person with the same level and factor collectively makes a society and a culture. As more people increase in their series more requirements are needed. This is where design makes an entry to the world. Actually, this design is always there but no one just realised its appearance. The design outshined with our requirements. Earlier design only occurred in nature and now it's also being used manually and being inherited to the next generation. These generations represent their own design for their culture and society. For example, Ndebele is a very old tribe in Africa and their women wear rings around their neck to show their beauty and which is where design led to this phenomenon for love to their husbands. The design its a mesmerising phenomenon which cannot be neglect and being even if it's not needed. The design also evolves with time and nothing can stop it. For example, when there were no wheels the Egyptians made their pyramids by pulling the blocks but who knows someone just by placing rode will make it so easy to move and later these logs will transfer to wheels. By lots of experimentation with nature and changing their formation according to the situation led to the new design and a phenomenon happens without someone sense about it. Nowadays the symbols from our religion are being printed on our t-shirts and led to the new designs with experimentations. We humans ourself a beautiful piece of design created by nature or we can say, God created this enormous world of design.

Reflection B: History of the Human Evolution according to the history of the object

My object is toothpaste and when I read about history, I got to know the following main event –

1. Before civilization people used to eat high fibrous and nutrition-rich diet like meat and they did not experience any Dental problems.

2. As the humans get civilized farming started and Egyptians didn’t have the luxury for the well-developed diet and started eating starch bread, fruits and vegetables and the sugary content resulted in tooth decaying and this forced to the invention of the toothpaste.

3. The first paper was also made in this period and by which researchers got the oldest recipe of the toothpaste and it was believed the dentist who made it was a saint because this invention was unbelievable.

4. Then the invasion of Islamic World this led to the spread of many designing to the world.

5. Then the invention of soap, chalk, fluorides and many other chemicals were invented back then and were being used in the toothpaste, this shows the development of industrialization. The word war also impacted in development of science and technologies and many new design elements invented and discovered.
