On 24th August we started with Project 2 and my teachers were Kishore Sir and Josh Sir.
This project is basically designed to improve our drawing skills and make us understand drawing as a language. It is a 6 days project in which we started with the understanding of dots and lines. We learned about the basics of drawing.
From the 60 sheets of the project the 5 best pages I selected are -
1. Exploration Of Dots

In this drawing, I reversed the process of making lines.
I drew the basic line with sets of dots with the use of a pencil.
Some dots are overlapped, some vary in size and some are dark and some light.
I made these as the designs and they are a line made with dots and it gives an image of making necklace design with beads.
I made this on Day 1.
2. Cloud With Dots

In this drawing, I made the Thunderstorm Clouds which is very dark and ready to rain as the cloud is like a random shape with dark colour.
I made it using big dots of various shades and also by overlapping.
I made this on Day 2.
3. Ellipse With Triangles

In this drawing I made the ellipse shape with the use of black waterproof drawing ink. These
In this, I used the triangles of different sizes with minimum quantity.
I made this on Day 4.
4. Cylinder With Squares

In this drawing, I made the cylinder with the use of squares by rotating and overlapping them. The square will actually look like curved or in this way which I had drawn so that's why I made them like this.
I used the 6B pencil to make it.
I made this on Day 5.
5. 20 Swatches Of Textures

In this drawing, I made the textures with help of Micron Tip Pen. It was very smooth to draw these types of textures with it. I thought of the diagrams of the leaves and the microbes and made the textures like this.
I made 20 swatches of size 2 * 2 inches with different styles of textures.
I made this on Day 6.
Observations of the video showed on Day 1
In the video, we were shown the relationship between the dot and the line. First, it is shown that dot loves the wild and unkempt squiggle. But to impress the dot, the line tried a lot and finally changed its form become shapes in 2d form, 3d form, and in complex forms which make dot fall in love with the line (which is clean and powerful as compared to squiggle).
By this video, I observed the true love between dots and lines i.e. Neither line can live without dots nor dots can live without a line. We got to know when both lines and dots got together they can form anything.

Observation Of The Characteristics Of Different Types Of Pencils
Different types of pencils help in making lines and dots of different width and with different tones. Each pencil has its own characteristics. Like HB, 2B & 4B pencils are used to make narrow lines with lighter tones. And 6B, 8B, 10B &12B are used to draw broad lines with dark tones.
But in the case of charcoal pencils, they show tones differently. The hard one gives a lighter shade and it really feels hard to draw and there medium and last soft which gives the darkest shade.

Potential of Humble line/dot/shape
Dots can be of any size, shape, and tones and can even overlap, after all of this the value of a dot remains zero.
The humble line is made up of any type of dots and when combined they can create anything.
Shapes can be made both lines and dots of any kind. And these shapes can also be used to create other shapes in any form.
Thoughts Behind The Composition

I made the composition Power with the use
of square and rectangle dots.
In this drawing, I made the Hand of The God which is filled with a Great Amount of power.
I made it with the use of overlapping and tonal variations of the dots.
I arranged them like a hand and exactly in the middle where power if filled, is shown by dark dots.
I used an HB pencil to make overlapping dots and used a charcoal pencil to make darker dots in the middle.
Least Effective Work In The Project
There are 2 pages from day 2 which are my least effective because at that time I was so confused and made it look bad and very simple, then what teachers actually want. After 6 days, I realized that now I could change these pages very easily and beautifully.
In first I need to make the line with square and rectangular dots. And in the second drawing, I need to draw the composition Confusion.
Struggles While Working On Daily Sketches
I am very bad with my drawing part so I tried to make jugs in a very difficult manner. Sir told us to make 10 pages every day without an eraser. I never did this before but still, I tried and did the job. At that time I was not able to understand the correct way to draw.
On day 5 of the project, Sir told us actually how to draw after it became very easy for me. When my turn Sir also told why are you still scared with the jug and told make the jug like this or that and finally I can draw now.
My Most and Least Effective Drawing On Daily Sketches
For at least 7 days my every drawing is least effective until sir told me how to actually draw after that my drawing started to improve and even I am started liking my own drawings. In the least effective drawing, I was making it by taking a lot of time and effort and it was not even perfect and when sir told us how to draw with confidence and mistakes and didn't think of being wrong I made it and the results were amazing. This helped me a lot in improving my drawings.

Design Vocabulary
The important words which I learned in this project are -
1. Visual Language - It is defined as a system of communication using visual elements. The term visual language, with vision, describes the perception, comprehension, and production of visible signs. Just as people can verbalize their thinking, they can visualize it.

2. Rythym - Rhythm in art refers to the arrangement of shapes in a way that creates an underlying beat. It is similar to the rhythm of music, but instead of notes and sounds, we use colours and shapes. The best way to learn about rhythm in art is to see it in action.

3. Tactile - of or connected with the sense of touch.

4. Swatches - a small sample of fabric intended to demonstrate the look of a larger piece.

Thoughts On New Way Of Learning
It's very tough to fully interact with teachers.
Everyone faced with a lot of net problems and we were not able to show our pictures easily.
The main problem I faced that if teachers want to teach something by drawing on our sketchbook they cannot. They cannot teach as they teach us in the studio.
The only good thing is that travel time for college is saved.
We are also able to come forward and say our thoughts easily because I got so nervous to talk to the teachers face to face but due to online classes I am not nervous at all.
Sometimes I was not able to understand what teachers are trying to say.
Another thing I liked that everyone can make new friends very easily.
Key Learning Of The Project
First is that the dot has no value and it can be any shape and size.
After that, we learned the value of dots and lines.
I got to know how to rapidly draw.
It helped me a lot to improve my drawings.
I will use these types of design in my future projects.
We get to learn about various drawing tools.
We also learned how to make compositions.
We learned drawing as a language
We learned a little more sensitizing towards not only rhythm, etc. but understanding visual language through lines and dots.
Feedback

Sehaj,
Your honest and diligent work is highly praise-worthy. Always stay like this. :-)
Here are some tips to improve your engagement with the Learner's Log in future:
Explain the thought behind your work - "Why I did, What I did?"" For example in case of "ellipse with triangle" - Why did you place the triangles in this manner -what were you trying to achieve? How does this arrangement of triangles shown by you, represent an ellipse?
This aspect is done well for thematic expression of "Power".
Always give reasons for whatever you are saying. Talk about the "Why?". For example in case of most / least effective drawing of DDD - why do you find it effective or not…
